7 signs your website is losing you customers

Your site might be working fine and still be costing you money. These are the seven problems we find most often.

    1. It takes more than three seconds to load

On mobile data, most visitors leave before a slow page finishes rendering. Oversized images are the usual culprit and the easiest thing to fix.

    2. It was not designed for a phone

The majority of South African web traffic is mobile. If people have to pinch and zoom to read your services, they will not.

    3. Your contact details are hard to find

A phone number buried in a footer is a phone number nobody dials. Put a call or WhatsApp button in the header and repeat it at the end of every page.

    4. Nothing tells the visitor what to do next

Every page needs one obvious next step. Without it, interested visitors read, nod and leave.

    5. There is no proof you are real

Photos of actual work, a physical address, reviews and named people all reduce the risk a stranger feels before contacting you.

    6. Google cannot tell what you do

Vague headings like Welcome to our site give search engines nothing to work with. Say what you do and where you do it.

    7. Nobody has touched it in three years

Outdated prices, dead links and a copyright date from another era all signal a business that may no longer be trading. A short update every few months prevents it.
